Bitmoji classrooms are all the rage right now. It feels as if you can’t go two clicks online without stumbling into one. The professionals at 16th St Consulting want to offer just a little moderating advice around this new fad. We don’t see anything inherently good or bad about the creation of a bitmoji classroom, but we do hope that folks are not spending tons of time creating them, thinking that this will take care of the Social / Emotional Learning work that students are going to need. You may find creating a Bitmoji classroom to be relaxing and fun — have at it! However, students are in desperate need of relationships, they need to be heard, they need space to process all that they are feeling. If you are spending time on the creation of a Bitmoji classroom, great… Please just make sure that you are spending way more time planning for relationship building with your students, as well.
